/ OUR APPROACH: The Doula

In 2020, when OTS first launched, Sydnie L. Mosley, the Artistic Director of Sydnie L. Mosley Dances, left the following comment on Instagram.

Five years later, OTS is excited to finally adopt this beautiful doula language. We use the language of doula work to describe what we do: providing continuous care and support before, during, and shortly after birth.

In this case, birth refers to the ideas, movements, and projects you are trying to bring into the world. They are life, not static. These ideas are dynamic, living creatures interacting with the world, and we should honor them as such. In using the language of doula work, we recognize that our role is one of deep listening to sustain a unique relationship with every client.

What we offer:

Facilitation & Experience Design

Co-creation of meaningful learning experiences for institutions and communities

Drawing on best practices across several fields, we will craft engaging experiences such as workshops, conferences, discussion groups, and symposia.

In addition to planning and design, we provide full spectrum support including on-site support and skilled facilitation.

Project Coaching

Personalized support for creative, academic, research-based, and hybrid projects.

Drawing on models of collaborative research and generative wandering, we will support the development of your project at all stages.

Our bi-weekly sessions offer iterative feedback, conceptual scaffolding, planning, and accountability.

Learning Resources Design

Co-creation of learning resources for all contexts

Grounded in evidence-based approaches, we will develop engaging educational resources that can grow with ever-changing contexts and learning goals across traditional and non-traditional learning environments.

We design Teaching and Facilitation materials (lesson plans, unit plans, full curricula, facilitator guides, workshop plans, activity guides, and training manuals); Learner Facing Materials (workbooks, worksheets, prompts, and reading guides); and Assessment Materials (Self-Assessments, Rubrics, and Project-Based Learning Frameworks)

The Plug

We are connectors, explorers, and resource wranglers who can point you in the right direction as you develop your next idea.

Through a 180-minute focused sessions, we help you identify the systems, people, histories, and concepts that can further develop your ideas.

Each session ends with a customized resource list featuring  references tailored to your project and a series of future reflection prompts.
